PREPARATION
A long-lasting repair starts with proper preparation. We don’t simply grout over the existing problem.
- Remove existing silicone from all wall-to-wall and wall-to-floor junctions.
- Remove silicone from the internal and external shower screen joins and along the base of the shower screen.
- Treat affected areas with mould killer and thoroughly clean beneath the shower frame and glass.
- Remove existing grout from the shower floor and walls up to shower-screen height or 2.1m, excluding mosaic tiles where applicable.
- Vacuum the shower and remove any accessible moisture and debris from the prepared joints.
- Thoroughly clean and prepare all joints before new products are installed.
- Diamond-grind the wall-to-floor junction to create a clean, properly prepared surface for epoxy sealing.
REGROUT & RESEAL
Once preparation is complete, we rebuild the shower’s grout and sealing system using premium products designed for wet areas.
- Regrout shower walls using LATICRETE SPECTRALOCK® epoxy grout.
- Regrout the shower floor using LATICRETE SPECTRALOCK® epoxy grout.
- Seal the critical wall-to-floor junction with SPECTRALOCK® epoxy and professionally shape the joint.
- Install new commercial-grade, anti-mould silicone to the internal and external shower-screen verticals and along the base of the shower screen.
- Install new commercial-grade, anti-mould silicone to all required wall-to-wall junctions.
- Reseal around tap spindles and other required penetrations.
- Apply Aqua Mix Sealer’s Choice Gold penetrating sealer to applicable grout surfaces for additional protection against moisture, staining, mould and everyday wear.
- Thoroughly clean and pack down the work area.
