PREPARATION
A long-lasting balcony repair starts with proper preparation. We don’t simply grout or seal over the existing problem.
- Pressure clean the entire tiled area to remove built-up dirt, contaminants and loose material.
- Apply a pre-grout coat of Aqua Mix Sealer’s Choice Gold to help protect the tiles during the regrouting process. A final sealing treatment is applied once the new grout has been installed.
- Remove all existing sealant from wall-to-floor and perimeter junctions.
- Remove existing grout from the balcony floor and skirting tiles, where applicable.
- Vacuum the prepared joints and remove any accessible moisture and debris.
- Thoroughly clean and prepare all joints before new grout and sealants are installed.
- Prepare wastes, perimeter joints and other critical areas ready for resealing.
REGROUT & RESEAL
Once preparation is complete, we rebuild the balcony’s grout and sealing system using premium products selected for exterior tiled areas.
- Regrout the balcony floor using LATICRETE SPECTRALOCK® epoxy grout.
- Seal balcony perimeter joints using clear ARDEX ST sealant, a UV and weather-resistant sealant designed for exterior applications, and professionally shape the joints for a clean finish.
- Seal the inside of applicable balcony wastes using LATICRETE SPECTRALOCK® epoxy grout, creating a smooth, sealed transition around these critical drainage areas.
- Apply a final coat of Aqua Mix Sealer’s Choice Gold, a premium penetrating sealer that helps protect applicable grout and porous surfaces against water penetration, staining, mould and everyday weathering.
- Thoroughly clean and pack down the entire working area.
